Public Safety Minister Van Loan Announces Appointment to the National Parole Board

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 14, 2009) - The Honourable Peter Van Loan, Minister of Public Safety, today announced one part-time appointment to the Atlantic Region of the National Parole Board.

Mildred A. Dover of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI), is appointed as a part-time member. Ms. Dover enjoyed a 35-year career as a Prince Edward Island public school teacher. From 1996 to 2007, she was a Member of PEI's Legislative Assembly. Among her various responsibilities, Ms. Dover served as Minister of Education and Attorney General from 2003 to 2007. She holds a BA (Honours) and Post-Graduate Studies from the University of Prince Edward Island.
