Public Service Announcement: Low-Level Flying and Pathway Closure During Battle of Britain Ceremony at Canada Aviation Museum

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 17, 2008) - Please note that the Rockcliffe pathway/bikepath near the Canada Aviation Museum will be temporarily closed between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2008. Vintage aircraft and Canadian Forces' (CF) aircraft will be participating in low-level flying as part of the 68th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

This commemorative ceremony, which will take place at the Canada Aviation Museum from 10:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., will include a parade by members of the CF, Air Cadets and veterans, and a fly-past by Second World War (Spitfires, Hurricanes, Avro Lancaster) and CF aircraft (CF-18 Hornets, CH-146 Griffon helicopters, CC-144 Challenger), weather and aircraft availability permitting.

Museum parking is restricted to veterans and persons with disabilities. Free public parking is at CFB Rockcliffe on Codd's Road, north of Montreal Road. Continuous shuttles to/from the Canada Aviation Museum will run from 9:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
