QuStream Opens Engineering Design and Technical Support Office in Beijing, China

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 31, 2007) - QuStream Corporation (TSX VENTURE:QVC) announces the opening of an engineering design and technical support office in Beijing, China. The new facility employs six engineers and reports to Steve Miller, Vice President of Product Development with daily management to be provide by Karlton Burn, QuStream's Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, based in Hong Kong.

"These new premises have been opened in line with QuStream's strategic decision to expand its corporate presence in international markets. The Beijing office will provide software development resources for QuStream's global design initiatives plus technical support for QuStream customers in the Asia region," Karlton Burn comments. This will include feedback from Asian customers that will influence the evolution of existing and future products."

QuStream produces a broad range of digital video and audio routing and processing equipment for the worldwide market. This includes the recently-announced Integrity 600 series of HD and SD modules centred on a 3 RU high-speed chassis. Central to the Integrity 600 series are dual independent power supplies and optional redundant control plus a reference board for two power busses, two Ethernet busses and two reference signals to every card in the system. The system also incorporates dual fans with individual tachometric sensors.

Also recently introduced, QuStream's Cheetah V5 DVI-I transmission link enables long-distance delivery of DVI-I video or VGA component video and stereo audio via a single optical fiber or coaxial cable. Versions are available as stand-alone modules or 1 RU rack-mounting. The optical fiber model has a range of up to 6 miles (10 km) in single mode. The fiber modules also provide inbuilt support for multimode and single mode cable up to 1,200 ft (400 m). A looping output is provided on the transmission feed for DVI or VGA local monitoring. Tuned data rate is 1.485 Gbit/s which allows signals to pass through HD-SDI routers without additional processing.
