Quality Council of Alberta Offers Online Lean Six Sigma Training

QCA Teams with to Deliver Proven Technology and Content

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Jan. 18, 2010) - The Quality Council of Alberta (QCA), western Canada's member-based Quality organization, announces that it now delivers cost-effective, online Lean and Lean Six Sigma training to business professionals throughout Alberta, regardless of company location or size. The QCA's offering is made possible through an agreement with MoreSteam, the leading provider of Lean Six Sigma e-Learning and technology ( The agreement allows the QCA to offer its members a full Lean and Lean Six Sigma curriculum at significant discounts.

Lean and Lean Six Sigma are the leading business improvement methods in use today. Many Alberta businesses, including larger oil and gas companies, have standardized on these methods for internal performance improvement. Now, these same organizations are demanding that suppliers adopt Lean or Lean Six Sigma as a means of ensuring quality. The problem for many medium and smaller sized suppliers has been the cost and availability of this training, especially from recognized and certified professionals. The on-line learning offered through the QCA addresses these issues.

The program offered through the QCA is the same as that used by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as well as IBM, The Mayo Clinic, Rolls-Royce, the U.S. Navy, Eli Lilly and General Dynamics. On-line distribution means this training can be delivered regardless of location or company size. QCA has also reached agreement with Converge Consulting Group Inc. of Calgary to provide local support to the on-line training yielding a fully blended learning option for QCA members (

"The primary considerations for us were quality of program content and ease of delivery," said QCA Board Chairman Robert Gerst, "MoreSteam delivered both and the reaction of QCA Members has been extremely positive."

Carewest (a Division of Alberta Health Services) wais the first organization to adopt this blended learning approach and is recording recent progress on the QCA website ( The City of Calgary Water Services also recently joined the program.
