Quebecor Becomes Main Sponsor of 32nd World Film Festival

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 5, 2008) - Quebecor (TSX:QBR.A)(TSX:QBR.B) has announced that it is supporting the 32nd edition of the World Film Festival (WFF), which will be held from August 21 to September 1, 2008. The WFF is an international event that celebrates movies from every continent and promotes quality cinema. Its eclectic programming draws throngs of movie buffs year after year.

Quebecor will provide two-pronged support for the WFF: a monetary contribution and a promotional campaign in its subsidiaries' print and electronic media outlets.

"Quebecor has always been committed to promoting culture in all its forms," said Pierre Karl Peladeau, President and CEO of Quebecor. "Our sponsorship of the WFF helps make international cinema more accessible to Montreal film lovers. It is a way to foster cultural diversity and open a window on the world. It is also a way to celebrate movies and the talented people who make them."

This is not Quebecor's first initiative in support of film and its dissemination. Quebecor is also steering the Elephant project, which will digitize all the feature films made in Quebec to date. Under the Elephant project, the Company is spending $2.5 million to preserve, promote and provide access to Quebec's film heritage.
