Quebecor MediaPages Created: Quebecor Media Enters Print and Online Directory Market

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 11, 2007) - Quebecor Media has created a new subsidiary, Quebecor MediaPages, to include all its print and online directory operations, present and future.

Quebecor MediaPages will launch 30 new print community directories in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta under the "MediaPages" name in 2007 and 2008. The new publications will join Quebecor's existing stable of some 30 community directories in Quebec and Ontario. Quebecor MediaPages will also begin publishing urban directories under the "MediaPages" name in the Greater Montreal and Greater Quebec City areas in 2008. In addition, an online directory will be created under the name at the beginning of 2008. Listings in the online directory will be packaged with the print directories.

"Print and online directories account for 18% of total local advertising spending and people are increasingly turning to the Web to find businesses near their homes," noted Yves A. Sicard, the new President of Quebecor MediaPages. "We therefore plan to leverage media convergence among Quebecor Media's properties - Canoe, local and regional newspapers, magazines, Videotron, and so forth - in order to offer customers a distinctive, high value-added directory product at competitive rates."

Print directories were a $1.3 billion market in Canada last year. While the online directory market is modest by comparison at approximately $100 million, it is growing fast, with a projected annual growth rate of close to 40% over the next five years.

"Quebecor is entering the directory market with a running start thanks to its strong position in communities across Canada, particularly its newspapers and Canoe, Canada's largest portal," said Benoit Parent, Chief Operating Officer of Quebecor MediaPages. "We are confident we will achieve sustained growth in this booming market."

Quebecor MediaPages' head office is located in Montreal's Anjou district. The Company is currently recruiting sales representatives for its Montreal directories. A sales office will be opened in Quebec City in December 2007. Quebecor MediaPages expects to have a hundred employees by the end of 2008.
