Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, Education Editor, News Editor, Tech/Telecomm Editor TORONTO/ONTARIO/ PRESS RELEASE--(Marketwire - Nov. 1, 2007) - Toronto, Ontario. Tuesday Oct 30, 2007 - ONESTOP Media Group and Queen's University recently launched Canada's first campus-wide digital information network enabling the university to communicate news and emergency updates to students, staff and faculty on the move between classes and labs or while grabbing a coffee at the cafeteria. Using an across-campus network of 22 LCD strategically located screens, the Queen's Out-of-Home Digital Information Network provides both location specific and campus-wide information, keeping students and faculty up to date on departmental and campus-wide developments, upcoming campus events and national news. More than 80 staff members from 30 campus units help to update the network via a secure administration tool. Covering 16 high-traffic locations across campus, Queen's DIN is also the latest enhancement to the University's emergency response system. Michael Girgis, President of ONESTOP Media Groups says, Digital Information Networks like the one now launched at Queen's "provide modern day infrastructure to support quick dissemination of information. It is this type of communication infrastructure that is helping to keep communities informed and entertained on a day-to-day basis and safe in emergency circumstances."Often digital networks (like ONESTOP's TTC Network) are made possible through advertising models that either entirely or partially offset the costs associated with the infrastructure build and ongoing maintenance. While the potential to engage sponsors for the network is being considered, no advertising is currently being permitted. "We see this as one more way to promote a connected and engaged campus," says Richard Seres, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications. "This is a multi-faceted, creative approach to communications, one that will both complement and go beyond our traditional communications vehicles to bring forward important information and developments." Robin Moon, Queen's Electronic Information Manager describes it succinctly as, "Information for Queen's, by Queen's." /For further information: ONESTOP Media Group ( is an internationally award winning Out-of-Home Digital Network Operator.
