Quicksilver Resources Names Blum Vice President - U.S. Land, Buckler Vice President - Engineering Technology; Announces Page as Vice President - U.S. Operations

FORT WORTH, TX--(Marketwire - October 2, 2007) - Quicksilver Resources Inc. (NYSE: KWK) announced today three key management appointments effective today.

C. Clay Blum, 48, has been named to the new position of Vice President - U.S. Land. In this position, Blum will be responsible for the coordination of all land operations and land administration efforts for the company in the United States. Blum joined Quicksilver in 2003 as Senior Staff Landman.

William (Bill) S. Buckler, 46, has been named to the new position of Vice President - Engineering Technology. In this newly created position, Buckler will be responsible for a multi-disciplined team focused on maximizing the company's recovery of natural gas from unconventional reservoirs. Buckler joined Quicksilver in 2003 as Engineering Manager and became Vice President - U.S. Operations in 2005.

Stan G. Page, 50, will succeed Buckler as Vice President - U.S. Operations. Page brings nearly 30 years of oil and gas operating experience to Quicksilver. Since beginning his career with Amoco in 1979, Page has held various positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as operations center manager for BP Amoco's East Texas Asset.

Blum, Buckler and Page will be located in Quicksilver's Fort Worth headquarters.
