REALITY CHECK: McGuinty Liberals Contradictory on Tax Cuts

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2007) - After spending a week arguing that Ontario can't afford a tax cut, Dalton McGuinty is stretching his credibility from Fort Severn to Port Colborne today by campaigning on a . . . wait for it . . . tax cut.

What McGuinty said yesterday: "Promising to deliver more services with fewer tax dollars is impossible, McGuinty said. That promise has been made before by Harris, he added." - Canadian Press, 26 September 2007.

What McGuinty says today: Property tax credit equals $250 million - Ontario Liberal Plan Costing p. 10.

Liberals have to answer the question: Which is it Mr. McGuinty? Can Ontario afford a tax cut or not?

Or is it just the case that McGuinty Liberals can't afford to have Howard Hampton campaigning on the NDP's health tax rebate because Dalton McGuinty broke his promise to not bring in a health tax in the first place.
