REMINDER/Media Advisory: Dick Pound Joins the Canadian Grenadier Guards

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 7, 2008) - The Canadian Grenadier Guards, the oldest reserve unit in the Canadian Forces, are proud to announce Richard Pound as their new Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel. His inauguration will be this Sunday, November 9th 2008 at their armoury.

As Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel he will be bestowed with the responsibility of ensuring the continuity of the Regiment's values and traditions.

Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Pound possesses a vast international and professional experience. He is presently a senior associate for the law firm Stikeman Elliott, chancellor of McGill University, administrator for the 2012 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic games. He is also known world-wide as founder of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and currently sits on its council.

Following their annual Remembrance Day church parade in the morning the Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Gourdji CD, ADC will formally inaugurate Richard Pound as the Canadian Grenadier Guards' Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel.
