REMINDER/Twentieth Edition of the RONA MS Bike Tour: Gear Up for Fun, for a Challenge, for a Cure!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 3, 2009) - Preparations for the 20th edition of the RONA MS Bike Tour, organized for the benefit of the Quebec Division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, are in full swing. This year, cyclists will enjoy two routes that were specially created by the team at Velo Quebec EVENEMENTS. Together, they will raise money to finance research and services offered to people with multiple sclerosis (MS) and their families. The first route will explore the Victoriaville region on August 22 and 23, 2009, while the second will visit the Levis area on August 29 and 30.

Join a team - it's more fun!

Last year, the 1,500 participants in the RONA MS Bike Tour raised a record $1,250,000. Take up the challenge this year and help the MS Society, Quebec Division to achieve its new goal: $1,300,000. People are encouraged to make up a TeamMS with family members, friends and co-workers, as almost 90% of participants do. Cyclists in each region will be able to choose between a 150-km, two-day version of the tour and a 75-km route run on Sunday only. Real enthusiasts will also be able to add on some 25-km optional loops.

An invitation from Patricia Paquin and Louis Garneau

For the 20th edition, Louis Garneau, president and founder of Louis Garneau Sports Inc., joins the RONA MS Bike Tour as honorary chair: "when I get on my bike I feel truly free. What could be more natural than wanting to give people with multiple sclerosis the same feeling?" Patricia Paquin, host of Rythme FM Montreal and in her tenth year as spokesperson for this event, is happy to be associated with the activity. "To help the thousands of Quebecers with MS, including my sister Caroline, let's keep up our efforts to end MS. We're so close to the finish line!"
