REMODELING Announces New Cost vs. Value Web Site

Free Report Downloads Now Available

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - November 8, 2007) - REMODELING magazine announced that, for the first time, data for the 60 U.S. cities covered in its annual Cost vs. Value Report are available for free online. Visitors to www.costvsvalue.com can download a PDF document containing data that compares construction costs for common remodeling projects against the share of those costs recovered at resale. In addition to city data, the PDF includes tables with national and regional averages and complete project descriptions for all 29 projects surveyed for this year's Report.

Until two years ago, data for the 60 cities covered by the Cost vs. Value Report were available only in the feature story in REMODELING, which publishes the data each year in its November issue. Since 2005, city data had been made available on a pay-per-view basis.

"Making the city data available free online means our readers will be able to find the data they need more quickly and easily," said Sal Alfano, editorial director of REMODELING. "We've also built-in some features that make the online tables more useful. Projects can be sorted alphabetically, by cost, or by percent of share returned." The new Web site also provides supplementary demographic information from the 2000 Census of Population and Housing by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, plus forecasts from the Environmental Systems Research Institute.

The new Cost vs. Value Web site is scheduled to launch November 9, 2007.

A preview of the national tables is included with this release. Publication of this copyrighted data is embargoed until November 9, 2007. Any excerpts from these data tables must be attributed to Hanley Wood, LLC.
