RISC Networks, Cisco and IBM Analytics Provider, Enhances Its IT Analytics Services

Releases Version 3 Correlation Engine, Adds Windows Servers and Licensing, New Root Cause Visualization Features

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - June 24, 2010) -  RISC Networks, the leader in business technology analytics, today announced Version 3.0 of its Unified Correlation Engine Logic (UCEL), the proprietary analytics software at the foundation of the company's network and IT infrastructure consulting services. The announcement coincides with Cisco Live 2010, taking place in Las Vegas from June 27th to July 1st.

RISC Networks, an analytics provider for Cisco Systems, IBM and others, does not sell network monitoring software or hardware. Instead, the company provides technology analytics services. Its consulting engineers use UCEL 3.0 to correlate and analyze information gathered from clients' entire IT environments, including data, voice and video traffic, networks, servers, desktops, applications, printers and other technology.

The new version enables RISC Networks' engineers to more accurately pinpoint specific problems at the device and traffic path level and illustrate the results to the client in an easy-to-read "punch list" of prioritized network management issues. In addition, UCEL 3.0 adds important new features that deepen the analytics capabilities for Microsoft servers and desktops.

Important new features of UCEL 3.0 include:

  • Data Center Virtualization Analysis for Microsoft Windows Servers
  • Windows Server Event Log Analytics
  • Windows OS and Office License Compliance Analysis
  • HD Video Call Path Simulations present a clear visual picture that cross correlates poor calls with root cause errors
  • Quality of Service (QoS) Flow Analysis checks high priority traffic actual performance and IP configurations
  • Enhanced Performance/Component Correlation pinpoints problems at the device level

"We have conducted thousands of analytics engagements, which has given us tremendous insight into what IT managers need to more effectively manage their IT infrastructures," said Jeremy Littlejohn, chief analyst at RISC Networks, Inc. "We listened to our clients and developed new methodologies and correlation models in our version 3.0 engine that are even more detailed, but still easily translate into clear actionable items that our clients can solve."

In its consulting engagements, RISC Networks uses its proprietary tools and methodology to fulfill a much needed role in the industry, providing objective analytics and independent reporting to help guide clients in making strategic decisions to improve and optimize their IT Infrastructure.
