RSM Richter Chamberland: Building on Strength and Challenging Stereotypes

RSM Richter Chamberland recognized as one of Montreal's Top 15 Employers for third consecutive year!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 29, 2009) - RSM Richter Chamberland has been named one of Montreal's Top 15 Employers for the third year in a row, in recognition of its forward-thinking approach to leadership and employee recruitment. The annual listing was published in The Gazette, on October 17.

Employers who entered this 9th annual national competition organized by Mediacorp Canada Inc. were judged by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers on two main qualifications: leadership in attracting and retaining quality employees, and ability to offer exceptional places to work. Specifically, the judges evaluated employee engagement, environmental leadership, community involvement, professional development, and more; all areas in which RSM Richter Chamberland is a leader.

"Being named one of Montreal's Top 15 employers again this year is especially significant for an accounting and business advisory firm. Our focus has to be on our people, and we are committed to supporting them in meeting their professional and individual goals. In fact, by developing programs to develop younger leaders, while continuing to draw on the experience of our senior partners, we can continue to find new ways to raise the bar in meeting our firm's and our employees' needs," claims Stephen Rosenhek, Managing Partner.

Focus on employees

This year alone, the Montreal office revitalized its management structure by nominating Tasso Lagios as Audit and Tax Practice Leader and Stephen Rosenhek as Managing Partner, and announcing the addition of five new partners.

RSM Richter Chamberland is able to break away from traditional accounting firm human resources practices by shifting its attention to younger leadership and ensuring advancement opportunities for all levels of staff. Activities are organized throughout the year to remind both management and staff that everyone plays an important role in moving the firm forward.

"This year, the Firm implemented a custom-made 18 month leadership program designed to grow younger employees into management positions. This comprehensive professional development program includes soft and hard skills training, mentorship opportunities, and so much more to ensure that we have a strong team that continues to set us apart from other accounting firms", explains Rosenhek.

In addition to meeting its team's professional needs, RSM Richter Chamberland recognizes the importance of offering employees the opportunity to give back to their local communities. "This year, as part of our long-standing philanthropic commitment, we built upon our past Community Days by partnering with the Societe generale de financement du Quebec to lend a hand to eleven non-profit organizations in the Montreal region, all selected by our employees. Over 400 volunteers armed with shovels, brushes and good-will took part in a wide range of projects - it was quite something!" claims Tasso Lagios, Audit and Tax Practice Leader.

The Firm also introduced new Health and Well-being activities, offering outdoor Bootcamp classes and free monthly yoga classes to employees. The Firm continues to offer all employees a Health and Well-being subsidy program, which each individual can use for activities that interest him or her, such as gym memberships, Weight Watcher programs, smoking cessation programs, etc.

By continuing to focus on what employees want - opportunities for senior career development, community involvement and health and well-being programs, RSM Richter Chamberland offers a stimulating work environment in which employees can develop their full potential.
