Raid Inc. Announces New Technology Releases at Bio-IT World Conference 2010 in Boston

METHUEN, MA--(Marketwire - April 14, 2010) -  RAID Incorporated, an end-to-end high-performance solutions provider specializing in leading-edge technologies, today announced that they will be sponsoring and presenting at the Bio-IT World Conference & Expo, this year taking place at the World Trade Center in Boston, MA, April 20 - 22, at booth # 426.

RAID will be formally announcing several new technologies that will be a perfect fit for the life sciences industry. The Xanadu 220 will be the company's most reliable and dense storage solution yet, with features such as scalability to nearly a petabyte of capacity within a single rack, 8Gb FC / InfiniBand / iSCSI host connectivity, 4U 60-drive dense enclosures with frontloading trays for easy serviceability, and drive-level encryption services.

The Xanadu 230 is the highest-performing mid-range storage solution on the market today. With a SAS2 backplane, the system has been designed for environments that demand high bandwidth, such as computational analysis, rich media, large-scale simulations, and data-intensive research. The solution provides options such as 6Gb SAS / 8Gb FC / 1Gb iSCSI host connectivity, over 3GB/s sustained performance utilizing a SAS2.0 backbone, SSD / 6Gb SAS / Nearline drive options in 3.5" or 2.5," pre-read parity checking, and proactive drive health monitoring (PDHM).

RAID will also be presenting their 1U Fusion Quad-Socket Nehalem EX Server Solution, which will provide the most computing power in the smallest form factor currently available in the market today. Eight-Core Nehalem EX processors are at the heart of the next generation of intelligent and expandable high-end Fusion server platforms, which will deliver a number of new technical advancements and boost enterprise computing performance.

"We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to exhibit and present to the premier technology and research professionals in the life sciences industry," stated Marc DiZoglio, EVP of HPC Technologies at RAID Inc. "Our flexible and customized HPC solutions are a perfect fit for the demanding performance, capacity, and reliability needs of the industry, and we are confident that the conference will provide us with a great opportunity to grow our presence within the industry."
