Raleigh's Newest Stand-Alone Chick-fil-A Restaurant Opening Dec. 7

First 100 Adults in Line to Receive Free Chick-fil-A Food for a Year

RALEIGH, NC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 6, 2006 -- Chick-fil-A, Inc. is opening its newest stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant in Raleigh at 8661 Six Forks Rd. (at Strickland Rd.) at 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 7 when they will give away $26,000 in free Chick-fil-A food to the first 100 adults in line at the new location.

Chick-fil-A will award a one-year supply of free Chick-fil-A® Combo Meals (52 coupons) to the first 100 adults, age 18 and older with identification, at the new stand-alone restaurant. The line can begin forming up to 24 hours prior to the opening, with the prizes being awarded on Thursday, Dec. 7 between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

Veteran Chick-fil-A Operator of 25 years, Charly Kerr has been selected to operate the new restaurant on Six Forks Rd. Kerr and his wife, Carolyn, have two children.

"We have raised our family and lived in Raleigh for many years," said Kerr. "After having operated several different Chick-fil-A locations in the area, Carolyn and I look forward to opening this new stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant by continuing to provide freshly prepared food with 'my pleasure' customer service."

The new location marks the fourth stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant to open in the Raleigh-Durham area this year and features seating for 154 people as well as a convenient drive-thru.

QSR Magazine recently released its scores for the Best Drive-Thru in America Survey with the Chick-fil-A chain's overall composite scores placing it in the lead -- making it four out of the past five years that the chain has earned top rankings.

$2 Billion In Sales

Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc., the nation's second-largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain (based on sales) reached $2 billion in sales in November for the first time. Currently with more than 1,280 restaurants in 37 states and Washington D.C., the company reported 2005 system-wide sales of more than $1.975 billion, resulting in a 13.1 percent increase over 2004 and a positive 5.87 percent same-store sales performance. The chain will add more than 72 locations in 2006, including 63 stand-alone restaurants.
