Rallies Next Tuesday in Kitimat and Vancouver to Protest Enbridge Pipeline-Tanker Plan

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 27, 2010) - Hundreds of British Columbians are expected at two rallies next Tuesday in opposition to the Enbridge's Northern Gateway Pipeline and the oil tankers it would bring to B.C.'s North Coast.

The rally in Kitimat coincides with the first public meeting by the federal panel reviewing Enbridge's pipeline application. The rally in Vancouver is focused on the push for a legislated tanker ban in B.C.'s northern waters.

When: Tuesday, August 31, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Where: Outside the Riverlodge Recreation Centre in Kitimat, B.C.
Speakers: First Nations leaders, community activists, municipal politicians, Northern B.C. MLAs, MP Nathan Cullen. Music by Rachelle van Zanten.
