Rallye Aicha des Gazelles: Team Garda Wins First-Time Participation Category

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 12, 2010) - Garda World Security Corporation (TSX:GW) (Garda), one of the most trusted Physical Security, Cash Logistics and Global Risk Consulting firms in the world, is proud to announce today that the team the company supported during the 2010 Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles Morocco finished first among the 60 teams competing for the first time and 15th overall among the 112 participating teams. Team Garda achieved the highest position among Canadian teams participating in the event.

Team Garda #129 competed in the Rallye to support FamiJeunes, a non-profit organization helping needy women and children in Montreal. "We are thrilled to announce that our fundraising has enabled us to collect $75,000 to help many families in need," says team driver Edith Robillard. "We thank our families, friends and sponsors for their generous contributions."

Team Garda included Ms. Robillard, a specialist in fine wines, and Stéphany Maillery, team navigator and professional actress. "We are very proud to be associated with this winning duo," notes Nathalie de Champlain, Vice-President, Communications and Marketing, at Garda. "Their strength of character, determination and desire to succeed enabled them to finish the race in a spectacular way. Garda has great admiration for their tremendous success."

During the 8 day Rallye, the duo had to drive off-road for 2,500 kilometres in the Sahara desert. The event was conceived for driving pleasure rather than speed while respecting the local population and the environment. The only directions provided were geographical coordinates, the course or the distance to daily check-points and the finishing line. During the competition, participants could only use team work, some relief maps and a compass.

"Despite a deep tiredness, we are very happy to have experienced such a journey, often under extreme and arduous conditions. It was not always easy, but we knew that we could count on one another and that we were encouraged by our supporters. It is an incredibly enriching experience we will never forget," stated Stéphany Maillery, member of team #129.
