Raxco Software Enhances PerfectDisk® Version 8 Disk Defragmenter With New Performance Information

Best-Selling Disk Defragmenter Now Gives Users Even More Information on Drive Health

GAITHERSBURG, MD -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 16, 2006 -- Raxco Software, the worldwide leader in disk defragmentation software, announced today the release of PerfectDisk® Version 8 Service Pack (SP) 1, with enhancements to PerfectDisk 8.0. The new service pack is being launched just one month after Version 8.0 was released, and provides important drive performance information for large enterprise, small- and medium-sized businesses (SMB) and home office users.

Enhancements with SP 1 include:

-- A new Performance tab that includes bar charts showing file
fragmentation and free space fragmentation for a user's drives, before and
after defragmentation passes, over a period of time. This helps users see
the direct benefits of defragmentation more easily.
-- New drive performance information that shows the health of a user's
drives. This graphical information, displayed in bar chart form, lets users
easily see how their drives are performing. The drive health information is
based on fragmentation levels of data files, free space, system files and
    directories.
-- Enhanced Command Center reports, including color-coded highlights of
    warnings and alerts.

In the month since its release, PerfectDisk 8.0 has proven to be the most popular, comprehensive, user-friendly and cost-effective version of its award-winning tool to date. With exclusive new features, including a new management console and an enhanced interface, PerfectDisk Version 8 boosts user and administrator productivity and improves long-term PC performance for the enterprise, small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and home office users.

"The release of this Service Pack right on the heels of the PerfectDisk Version 8 launch demonstrates our commitment to aggressively enhance PerfectDisk," said Greg Hayes, manager of technical solutions at Raxco Software. "The feedback on PerfectDisk 8 has been tremendous, but we refuse to rest on our laurels, and this update gives our users even more information that will help them understand not only how PerfectDisk is helping them, but also give them an easy-to-read overview of their drives' performance."

PerfectDisk Version 8.0 with SP 1 is available immediately. It is free to existing PerfectDisk 8 customers via PerfectDisk's Autoupdate facility and can be purchased at Raxco Software's web site (www.raxco.com).
