Recent Developments at Uni-Select

BOUCHERVILLE, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - June 6, 2006) - Uni-Select (TSX:UNS) is proud to confirm that it has completed two previously disclosed acquisitions.

On May 31, the Company purchased all of the shares it did not own in USI-AGI Prairies Inc. As a result, Uni-Select is now the sole shareholder of USI-AGI. It was in February 2002 that Uni-Select and Acklands-Grainger Inc pooled their automotive sale and distribution related assets in the Canadian Prairies in the joint venture known as USI-AGI.

Uni-Select estimates that this business development will add $3.8M to its pre-tax profit.

On June 1st, acting through an American subsidiary, Uni-Select purchased all of the operating assets of Auto Craft Automotive Products, LLC, an automotive parts distributor based and active in the greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania market. Auto Craft operates one (1) distribution center, five (5) branch warehouses and seven (7) stores. Auto Craft also distributes its products through its network of independent merchants and corporate store locations.

The Heavy Duty Group of Uni-Select reports the departure of Robert de Montigny, who was, until June 2nd, Executive Vice-President, Heavy-Duty Group and his replacement by Jean Rivard, a seasoned manager who will have the same title and responsibilities. Mr Rivard comes from the transport industry where he has held a number of management positions with major carriers.

Uni-Select is Canada's second largest distributor of automotive replacement parts, equipment, tools and accessories and through Uni-Select USA, Inc., the company also provides service to customers in the United States where it is the 8th largest distributor. Its subsidiary, Palmar Inc., sells replacement parts, tools and accessories for heavy-duty vehicles and wheels in Canada. The Uni-Select Network includes over 2,100 independent jobbers and services over 3,100 points of sale in Canada and the United States. Uni-Select is headquartered in Montreal. Uni-Select shares (UNS) are traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).
