Reconnex's iGuard Appliance Named a CRN Emerging Technology

Reconnex's iGuard Information Monitoring and Protection Appliance Protects Enterprise Before, During, and After Any Threat to Private Data or Intellectual Property

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - June 4, 2007) - Reconnex, the leader in data leak prevention appliances, today announced that on the strength of its iGuard 2600S, it has been selected by CRN, part of CMP's family of Channel Solutions, as a CRN Emerging Tech vendor. CRN's Emerging Tech list captures companies that are delivering high margins for solution providers via innovative and easy-to-use technology that undercuts industry giants.

The iGuard 2600S, sold exclusively though Reconnex's channel program, is a high-performance, appliance-based information protection system that provides an easy entry point into the information monitoring and protection market. The appliance offers speedy deployment, simplified day-to-day administration and reporting, and pre-configured policies to address key security requirements such as compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Reconnex was selected as an Emerging Tech vendor for its ability to provide information monitoring and protection to mid-size organizations in banking, finance, and healthcare. The iGuard 2600S monitors all sensitive data in motion and captures critical content to enable organizations to investigate exposure after the fact and improve their overall information security policies.

With the iGuard 2600S appliance, channel partners can extend their expertise from edge protection (spam, viruses, gateways, and other edge products) to monitoring and information protection. To help its partners succeed, Reconnex offers extensive sales and marketing support that includes lead-generation, co-branding, training, and other activities.

According to the 2007 CRN Emerging Tech Survey, solution providers add emerging technologies for the following reasons; the technology is superior to other products in the market segment, the technology compliments a solution providers' existing practice areas, emerging vendors provide better services opportunities, emerging vendors pay better attention to partners, emerging vendors offer higher margins, customers want alternate product choices, and emerging vendors have better joint-marketing programs. In addition, 61 percent of solution providers surveyed plan to increase the number of emerging technology vendors they partner with in the next 12 months.

"Successful solution providers are always looking for new and innovative partners, and the CRN Emerging Tech list provides a way for them to discover a large number of potential new partners that offer a wide range of emerging technologies," said Heather Clancy, vice president and editor of CRN.

Vendors that make the CRN Emerging Tech list must have an established solution provider program and formal guidelines for recruiting channel partners. They must demonstrate that their direct sales mix is trending down as evidenced by the company's revenue history, they must have a channel-positive or channel-neutral strategy for internal sales compensation, and they must not be a dominant market share player. Final selection to the Emerging Tech list was made at the discretion of the CRN editorial team after a review of the submitted information and conversations with current or targeted partners.

"We are honored to be recognized by CRN, the voice of the IT channel," said Erick Waggoner, Western channel sales manager for Reconnex. "This award validates the strength of the Reconnex iGuard and the need for an appliance that provides businesses with a solution that protects private data and addresses compliance requirements."
