Redhawk Resources Progress Update on Copper Creek Drilling

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 17, 2007) - Redhawk Resources, Inc., (TSX VENTURE:RDK)(FWB:QF7) through its wholly owned subsidiary Redhawk Copper, Inc., is pleased to announce that it has completed the first three holes of a planned 19 hole core drilling program at its Copper Creek Project in Pinal Co. Arizona. Frontier Drilling, LLC is carrying out the drill program.

The Copper Creek property is a Laramide age "porphyry copper" system located in the Southwestern US "Porphyry Copper Belt" approximately 60 miles northeast of Tucson. The property hosts numerous copper mineralized breccia pipes and deeper "porphyry copper style" copper and molybdenum mineralization.

The current drilling program is designed to infill and expand the resource previously announced on the Mammoth breccia, to test for expansion of the deeper Keel Zone resource located below the Mammoth Breccia, and to test several other district breccia bodies with historical drilling indicating potential "ore" grade mineralization.

The first three drill holes in the Mammoth Breccia have encountered breccia intervals as predicted by the resource model, or slightly longer. The first two holes have been geologically and geotechnically logged and split for assay at the Redhawk San Manuel, AZ facility. Sample intervals designated by staff geologists were split with a core saw or hydraulic splitter, trucked or hand delivered to ALS Chemex's prep facility in Elko, NV and sent to the ALS Chemex Vancouver, BC laboratory for analysis. ALS Chemex is a worldwide recognized laboratory registered to ISO 9001:2000 by QMI Quality Registrars and accredited by the Standards Council of Canada based on ISO 17025. Pulp standards are included with the initial core samples. In addition, check samples of reject and pulp material will be assayed by a second accredited laboratory. Results will be reported as soon as all assays and check assays are received.

Redhawk has also contracted the drilling of ground water monitoring wells to begin the baseline water quality data gathering process in advance of filing the necessary permits for commencing the underground development program to access to the breccia resources. Drilling of the ground water monitoring wells is scheduled to begin before the end of January 2007. Golder Associates, Inc. and WestLand Resources, Inc. are assisting Redhawk with the environmental permitting and monitoring process.
