Registration Begins for 2009 WebEOC User Training Conference

Emergency Managers Nationwide Convening in San Diego Show "The Power of Community"

AUGUSTA, GA--(Marketwire - November 18, 2008) - ESi®, the global leader in crisis information management systems, announced that registration is now open for its Fifth Annual WebEOC User Conference taking place April 13-17, 2009, at the Paradise Point Hotel in San Diego, California. Under the theme "The Power of Community," emergency management professionals representing public and private entities from virtually every part of the country and several foreign countries will gather to receive training from ESi and to share best practices with fellow users of WebEOC, the world's first Web-enabled crisis communications system.

ESi will offer even more training options and networking opportunities at the 2009 conference than in previous years. For the first time, attendees can participate in formal training sessions throughout the conference at no extra charge. In addition, there will be more than twice as many training hours tailored to different WebEOC experience levels. Two classrooms will be equipped with computers and WebEOC software for hands-on training. Conference attendees will even be able to book one-on-one time with ESi WebEOC technology "gurus" who can provide them with advice and support specific to their needs.

"The input we received from the WebEOC community of users will enable us to make our 2009 user conference an even more valuable experience by offering learning and networking opportunities tailored to their specific needs," said ESi President and Chief Executive Officer Nadia Butler. "In addition, this record year for hurricanes and other major events will make for captivating and informative case studies that will allow these already-seasoned emergency management professionals to learn new ways to use WebEOC. We will have some very strong examples of how ESi technology enabled managers to collaborate to achieve amazing results."

Presenters at the Fifth Annual WebEOC User Training Conference will include emergency managers who have used WebEOC to handle incident monitoring, rescue and recovery efforts and real-time information management during some of the most significant events in recent years. Here are just a few of the presentations in store for attendees:

-- Senior Sergeant Phil Hanson of the Western Australia Police, Counter Terrorism Unit will share some of the WebEOC best practices the unit has employed for in real-life situations as well as during training exercises such as their National Level Mercury '08 Exercise.

-- Scott Field, Emergency Operations Chief of the Denver Office of Emergency Management will present on how WebEOC was used to support security and public information functions for multiple local, state and federal agencies during the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

-- A panel of emergency managers from coastal areas will explain how they used WebEOC successfully during Hurricanes Gustav and Ike and how much progress has been made in hurricane preparedness and response since Katrina.
