About Silicon Navigator's Software and Business Model

Silicon Navigator's business model is based on licensing Application Programming Interface (API) based infrastructure and engines for chip design. The company provides EDA development tools and support to build products providing APIs to all components. The company bases its software on standards such at Qt, OpenGL, C++, TCL, Python and the OpenAccess database. Standards preserve customer investment and enable cross-pollination of technologies and resources from other industries. Its RDE framework's architecture represents the next generation of EDA software where core algorithms are simply inserted into a common infrastructure. Interoperability lowers barriers to adoption, minimizing investment for new tools.

About Silicon Navigator's RDE and OpenAccess

RDE offers a desktop and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), data and script viewers and APIs, and can be used stand alone or in conjunction with other commercial OpenAccess environments.

OpenAccess is a community effort to provide true interoperability among IC design tools through an open standard data API and reference database supporting that API for IC design. The OpenAccess Coalition is a neutral organization of industry leaders that are leading this effort operating under Si2 bylaws. Website:
