Residential Building Innovator Creates Engineer Marvel Custom Homes

Uncommon Engineering and Unlimited Imagination Are Signatures for D. Andersen Consulting

LAKE LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - September 26, 2007) - "Provocative, Andersen stretches the imagination, making the seemingly impossible, look easy," stated Dan Stewart from Peerless Restoration, Kansas City.

One sample of his work includes an engineering original in Kansas City. Andersen designed and built a 5BR, 5 1/2BA, 2FP home featuring an indoor/outdoor custom-designed pool accessible from the master suite or great room, and multiple exterior living spaces. Swim-in-place feature and decorative fountains compliment the five-person hot tub and waterfall. Theatrical lighting fixtures place focus directly on this dramatic centerpiece of the home.

Andersen selected a low-iron, fourteen-foot tall, solid glass wall, which separates the pool area from the manicured backyard and golf course. The use of 3/4"x9"x14' glass spines mounted perpendicular to the wall provides strength without metal framing. The glass is not attached to the roof elements at the top to allow for material distortions and wind loads.

A twin-arched fireplace anchors the outdoor kitchen, which features a Blue Bahia granite countertop, a grill, an all-weather refrigerator, and a galley sink on a heated brick patio. The fireplace is crowned with a brass cap, which matches the brass atop the estate's chimney.

The 14,000-gallon Koi Pond with negative edge waterfall features jets which can be set to heights up to eleven feet and the home's weather station will lower the effect if winds increase to prevent water loss and splashing.

The home includes fully integrated and automated control of the home's lighting, entertainment, HVAC and hydraulic, pool, pond, alarm, blinds, fans, skylights as well as all other mechanical systems throughout the home. Accessible from the internet, as well as from touch screen panels and multi-function controllers located through the home, original coding and commissioned cross-platform integration, allow the user to easily change the lighting, blinds, music, fountains, pool and pond all with the press of a soft key labeled "Relaxing Evening."

CID has created one-of-a-kind solutions resulting in several first-of-their-kind applications. Custom integration allows the home's weather station to control the opening and closing of the Andersen Window skylights above the pool area.
