Revision to Lists of Electors Begins

Canadian electors in Guelph (Ontario), Saint-Lambert (Quebec) and Westmount-Ville-Marie (Quebec) can now make changes or add their names

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 6, 2008) -

- Elections Canada has started revising the preliminary lists of electors for all polling divisions in Guelph (Ontario), Saint-Lambert (Quebec) and Westmount-Ville-Marie (Quebec). Preliminary lists of electors are produced using information in the National Register of Electors.

- Electors in Guelph, Saint-Lambert and Westmount-Ville-Marie who are not on the list or who are listed at the wrong address can ask for a revision by contacting their local Elections Canada office.

- Door-to-door targeted revision will be conducted in selected areas during the revision period.

- Voter information cards will be mailed to all registered electors in Guelph, Saint-Lambert and Westmount-Ville-Marie between Wednesday, August 13 and Friday, August 15, 2008. An elector who has not received a card by Wednesday, August 20, 2008, or who receives a card with incorrect information, may contact the local Elections Canada office to correct the information.

- A reminder card will be mailed to every Canadian residence in Guelph, Saint-Lambert and Westmount-Ville-Marie between Wednesday, August 20 and Friday, August 22.

"Every elector in Guelph, Saint-Lambert and Westmount-Ville-Marie should be included on the list of electors for his or her polling division," says Chief Electoral Officer Marc Mayrand. "It is very easy to register or to make corrections to information on the list."
