Road to 100G Alliance to Present at Photonics West 2008

IP Infusion to Represent the Alliance at the Developments in Broadband Access Technologies Forum

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - January 22, 2008) - Photonics West 2008 - On behalf of the Road to 100G Alliance, IP Infusion will be presenting "Challenges and Considerations along the Road to 100G" at the Photonics West 2008 Conference in the Industry Forum session on Developments in Broadband Access Technologies, on January 23, 3:30 pm at the McEnery Center in downtown San Jose, California.

"As the world moves towards a unified network infrastructure based on packet networks, software, silicon and optics become extremely critical to providing scalable and highly available solutions," said K. Ramesh Babu, vice president of Professional Services and Support, IP Infusion, An ACCESS Company, and treasurer of the Road to 100G Alliance. "At high bandwidths such as 100Gbps, it is essential that all of the components, including embedded software, be scalable and proven."

Founded in June 2007, the Road to 100G Alliance is bringing together the industry's best talent to eliminate obstacles that might delay deployment of high capacity, next generation networks. The Alliance's purpose is to provide seamless interoperability among the disparate, standards-based components required to build network elements. The establishment of a 100G ecosystem will serve network equipment vendors and their service provider, operator, and enterprise customers, facilitating more aggressive creation of higher-bandwidth networking infrastructure.

"We are pleased to have the Road to 100G Alliance present at the Broadband Access Communication Technologies Conference," said Dr. Benjamin Dingel of Nasfine Photonics, Inc., one of four chairs of the Broadband Access Communication Technologies Conference at Photonics West 2008. "As carriers and service providers upgrade their networks to support next generation technologies and higher bandwidth, it is important for us to understand the challenges involved and work together to try and resolve some of these challenges. We welcome the initiative of the Road to 100G Alliance in addressing these challenges in a collaborative forum."
