Rodale and Nissan Announce Marketing Agreement to Introduce 2008 Nissan Rogue

'SHIFT_life Tour' Events and Master Trainer Endorsements Kick Off Campaign; World-Renowned Cycling Coach Chris Carmichael, Ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes and Ironman Triathlete Lokelani McMichael to Share Advice and Motivation in "Masters" Program

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 26, 2007) - Rodale Marketing Solutions, a unit of Rodale Inc., the authoritative source for trusted content in health and wellness worldwide, announced today a marketing agreement with Nissan to present the all-new 2008 Nissan Rogue to its audience of high-performance life enthusiasts. Rodale will produce a series of 'SHIFT_ life Tour' events, master trainer endorsements and a custom integrated multi-media program to introduce the vehicle, which goes on sale this month at Nissan dealers nationwide.

"We aim to generate awareness and lead generation while increasing the brand's profile across digital, print, and event platforms."

The "Masters" component of the program will provide preferential access to Chris Carmichael, the world's pre-eminent cycling coach and founder of Carmichael Training Systems, Dean Karnazes, Ultra marathoner, and Best-selling Author, and Lokelani McMichael, Ironman Triathlete, Model and Fitness Expert via a customized, multi-media platform.

The integrated multi-media program, which is based on Nissan's existing "SHIFT_" brand, will leverage the voice and attitude of Nissan while creating an opportunity for Rodale's audience to relate the all-new Rogue directly to their passions.

The program includes a print campaign in Men's Health, Women's Health, Runner's World, Backpacker, Bicycling and You24 beginning in October. A "Master" trainer will appear on the cover of the special impact ad unit. The reader will 'unzip' the page, allowing the unit to open, revealing the "Master" trainer in their environment with the 2008 Nissan Rogue.

Full-page advertorials will run adjacent to a 2008 Nissan Rogue brand ad in the November and December issues of Men's Health, Women's Health, Runner's World, Backpacker and Bicycling. "Advertorial provides continual promotional support surrounding the vehicle launch and drives traffic to the online site," added MaryAnn Bekkedahl.

Online Media Promotion

Rodale designed a micro Web site that features an integrated promotion of key 2008 Nissan Rogue performance features, along with "Master" trainer video interviews, question and answer features, training plans, and "Master" picks of the best runs, rides and hikes in select City Guides. A Sweepstakes program designed to increase buzz and viral capacity surrounding the vehicle pre-launch and 'Master-Plan' program will be launched.

Rodale is producing the 'SHIFT_ life Tour,' a customized event platform to run from September through November 2007 in key cities nationwide. Nissan Rogue brand ambassadors will utilize handheld devices and a kiosk to enter consumers in the Nissan Rogue Giveaway Sweepstakes, with the chance to win a 2-year lease on a 2008 Rogue. All tour events will feature a vehicle display, along with a custom created course tour to provide consumers with unique and compelling event participation experiences.
