Ron Jaworski Partners With RCN as Celebrity Spokesperson for Philadelphia & Lehigh Valley, PA Markets

Player's Speed, Reliability, Expertise & Commitment to the Community Makes "Jaws" the Perfect Choice to Tout RCN's High Speed Internet, All-Digital Video and Premium Voice Services

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA--(Marketwire - November 16, 2009) - RCN PA announced today that Ron Jaworski, the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and current ESPN "Monday Night Football" analyst, has signed on to become the spokesperson for RCN's Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley, PA markets.

RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: RCNI) is a leading provider of all-digital and high definition video, high-speed internet, and premium voice services to residential and small-medium business customers, in Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, PA, New York City, Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C., as well as high-capacity transport services to carrier and large enterprise customers.

"Ron is one of the most popular and knowledgeable analysts covering football today. His remarkable achievements as an Eagle and the commitment to community involvement shared by RCN make him a local favorite and an outstanding choice to be RCN's spokesperson in our Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley markets," said RCN President & CEO Peter Aquino. "We welcome Ron to our all-star home team of local celebrity spokespersons, and are excited he's partnering with us to speak on behalf of our company."

Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Rams, Jaworski was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in March of 1977. Under coach Dick Vermeil and behind Ron's very strong arm and enthusiastic field leadership, the Eagles advanced to the NFC Playoffs in 1978 and 1979. In 1980, "Jaws" led the Eagles to a 12-4 record, the NFC Championship and their first-ever berth in a Super Bowl (Super Bowl XV vs. the Oakland Raiders). Ron Jaworski finished the 1980 season as the No. 1 rated passer in the NFC. In recognition of his brilliant 1980 season, Ron was selected to the PRO BOWL and won the "Bert Bell Trophy" as the NFL's MVP.

"Ron Jaworski's name is synonymous with excellence -- on and off the field -- so we are thrilled that he'll be supporting RCN's award-winning products and services which have made us a Reader's Choice winner for over five years," said RCN PA General Manager & Vice President Randy Nungester.

Until the time Ron suffered a broken left leg and torn ligaments in his left ankle at St. Louis during the 1984 season, Ron led the Eagles to the NFC Playoffs four times and started 116 straight NFL games, thereby setting a record for the most consecutive starts by an NFL Quarterback. During his 10 years (1977-1986) with the Philadelphia Eagles, Ron passed for nearly 27,000 yards, including 175 touchdowns (TDs) and held numerous franchise records.

"From my experience as a playmaker and now as an analyst, I breakdown games to determine what worked, what didn't and why. RCN has a winning game plan, and I'm excited about representing this local, award-winning company," Jaworski explained. "I look forward to promoting the products and services that helped win them the Reader's Choice award for multiple years and make folks want to come home to RCN."
