In the era of economic globalization, a new trend is emerging for more collaborations and interactions between US pharmaceutical/biotech companies and their counterpart in the Pacific Rim, particularly, China. "Over 200 life science professionals attended SABPA's highly successful inaugural Pacific Forum on Life Sciences & Entrepreneurship last fall. Our 2nd Pacific Forum aims to provide a platform to discuss this new trend of intensified collaboration across the Pacific and its ramifications for local biotech and pharmaceutical companies," commented Dr. Zhu Shen, Immusol's Senior Director of Business Development and SABPA's Board member and Chair of the Pacific Forum. "Our outstanding speakers will compare and contrast US and Chinese FDA regulatory systems, discuss cross-Pacific licensing and outsourcing trends, as well as career opportunities in Asia Pacific for bi-cultural life science talents."

Pacific Forum features prominent cross-Pacific executives such as Drs. Zili Li, Director of Asia Pacific Clinical Research Operations of Merck, Glen Rice, CEO of Bridge Pharmaceuticals, Kevin Chen, Vice President of China Operations of BioDuro, Richard Soll, CSO of TargeGen, Charles Hsu, Venture Partner of Pappas Ventures, Peng Chen, Partner of Morrison Foerster, Jason Jin, CEO of Maxybio, and Alan Paau, Assistant Vice Chancellor of UCSD. Joseph Panetta, BIOCOM's CEO, will give opening remarks.

Over 200 professionals in the academia and biotech/ pharmaceutical industries in research, business development, venture investment, regulatory, manufacturing, and IP law are expected to attend the symposium. Visit for details.
