SEIU Canada: Dignity and Respect for Government Office Janitors

Workers from Ability Janitorial Services Inc. hold press conference

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 8, 2007) - Workers who clean government offices in the nation's capital, and their supporters, Ottawa Centre MP Paul Dewar, will hold a noontime press conference on Nov. 9, 2007 to bring attention to unfair treatment at the hands of their employer: Ability Janitorial Services Inc.

However, the employer has steadfastly refused to provide workers with wage increases or benefits. The workers earn just above eight dollars per hour and have no benefits.

What: Ability Janitorial Services workers tell their stories

Speakers: Federal building cleaners Shewafraw Aweke and Olympio Toca,
Ottawa Centre MP, Paul Dewar.

When: Friday, November 9, 2007 12:00 noon
