SOS Children's Village BC: German Fan Fest Gives Back to Lower Mainland Kids by Auctioning THE Classic East German Olympic Party Trabant to Raise Funds for Local BC Charity

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 25, 2010) -

WHAT: Live auction featuring a one- of-a-kind specially imported Olympic Trabant, and two trips to Germany by Barry Scott of Maynards. This classic Trabant includes an in-house bar and beer tap at the rear, and is the epitome of fuel efficiency... for less than $20 you can drive 400km without a pee brake! An icon of Eastern European industry, this car is great for Canadian winters, as it is made of Duroplast and is resistant to rust. In addition, this classic will be signed by members of the German Olympic team, the multiple Olympic Medal Winner, Gunda Niemann-Stirnemann and the Prime Minister of the German province "Thuringia", Christine Lieberknecht.

WHO: The GERMAN FAN FEST PAVILLION in partnership with SOS Children's Village BC

WHEN: Sunday February 28th, 2010 at 3pm following the Men's Gold Medal Hockey Game...

Photo opportunity with Mr. Scott and members of the German Olympic Team at the start of live auction.

WHERE: German Fan Fest (located at 555 West Cordova Street in Vancouver)

WHY: Currently there are over 9,000 children in foster care in BC. Every single one of these children have a dream. SOS believes dreams can be achieved. SOS Children's Village BC provides homes, hope and healing but we can't do it alone. By participating in the German Fan Fest event, you are carrying the torch for these children, and like the Olympic torch, it must stay lit until the dream is realized.

Partial proceeds will go to support SOS Children's Village BC which is the only village in all of Canada.
