Saban Center for Health and Wellness at the Motion Picture & Television Fund Dedicates Two Assessment Rooms and a Patio Garden to Margo and Irwin Winkler

Producer/Director Gives $250,000 Toward New State-of-the-Art Senior Center

WOODLAND HILLS, CA--(Marketwire - September 27, 2007) - Noted film producer and director Irwin Winkler and his wife Margo were on-hand today at the Motion Picture & Television Fund's recently opened Saban Center for Health and Wellness for the dedication of two geriatric assessment rooms and a patio garden in recognition of their $250,000 donation.

The Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF), the entertainment industry's premier health and social services charity, officially opened the doors to The Saban Center for Health and Wellness on its Wasserman Campus on July 18. The facility is a state-of-the-art therapy and wellness center that will drive MPTF's new focus on healthy aging, serving the 400 residents who live at the retirement community as well as the thousands of entertainment industry seniors who live throughout Southern California.

"We are very grateful to Irwin and Margo Winkler for their ongoing support of MPTF, as well as this very generous donation which has enabled us to enhance The Saban Center for Health and Wellness," said Ken Scherer, CEO of the Motion Picture & Television Fund Foundation. "Their kindness and enthusiasm for what we do is greatly appreciated and will be felt for generations to come."

The Saban Center for Health and Wellness will feature an aquatic therapy pool as well as a high-tech fitness gym, physical and occupational therapies, health assessments and education and wellness classes offered in a modern community room.

"Margo and I are proud of our long association with the Motion Picture & Television Fund," said Irwin Winkler. "The good work it does for the motion picture and television industries is one of their finest examples of the comradeship of all of us in the entertainment field."

The Saban Center for Health and Wellness will enable MPTF to better handle the rapidly increasing senior population by better engaging seniors in healthy lifestyle management and improving their quality of life, extending the organization's services to meet the changing needs of seniors throughout the greater Los Angeles area, providing end-of-life care to seniors in their own homes and building an even stronger volunteer network to help seniors deal with the challenges of aging in their own homes.
