Sagem-Interstar (Sagemcom Group), the global leader in advanced fax solutions for IP networks (, today announced that its XMediusFAX software only T.38 FoIP server solutions are compliant with key IP telephony solutions from Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

XMediusFAX FoIP solutions offer a cost-effective and efficient means for mission-critical enterprise faxing, whether at the office, at home, or on the road. XMediusFAX FoIP server software solutions have been compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Aura™ Communication Manager 5.2.1 and Avaya Aura SIP Enablement Services 5.2.1 using SIP and ISDN-PRI trunking, along with Avaya Media Gateways.

The patented T.38 XMediusFAX FoIP solutions will be showcased in Booth 603 at The Art of Evolution/Global Connect 2010, which is being hosted by the combined, International Avaya and Heritage Nortel User Groups on April 18-22, in Denver, Colorado.

"Our green-optimized XMediusFAX IP fax server solutions are the perfect fit for Avaya's open, standards-based platform," says Jean Champagne, General Manager of Sagem-Interstar (Sagemcom Group). "XMediusFAX FoIP benefits businesses with Avaya Unified Communications (UC) infrastructures by enhancing productivity, streamlining operations, and lowering Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). All this is important in the context of today's stringent regulatory compliances, evolving UC and ECM infrastructure strategies, and diverse requirements for integration with MFP, ERP/CRM, virtualization and SIP trunking networking applications."

One of the companies benefiting from the interoperability of XMediusFAX FoIP and Avaya solutions is the American Chartered Bank, a premier bank with 14 locations in the northwest Illinois suburban corridor. American Chartered Bank relies heavily on faxing to send thousands of pages of sensitive information and other banking documents every month.

"XMediusFAX promised to offer 'seamless integration.' Now that we have the solution up and running, we know this is absolutely true. The installation process was very quick and did not require much work within Avaya Communication Manager. Everyone likes the way they can now receive faxes directly into their email boxes and only print those items that they absolutely need to print. The product does everything that was promised and is very easy to administer," said Gary Peters, second vice president, information systems, American Chartered Bank.

Sagem-Interstar is a Gold member of the Avaya DevConnect program—an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network.

As a Gold member of the program, Sagem-Interstar is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab. There a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure—speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.

"By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like Sagem-Interstar who are members of our DevConnect program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations, Avaya.
