HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - October 10, 2007) - Despite the conventional wisdom of marketing
know-it-alls who warn about the dangers of offending someone, Saint Arnold
Brewing Co. (www.saintarnold.com) is not being shy about its affection for
Christmas. The Texas brewery's diverse community of passionate fans feels
the same way, and they have been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to open
this year's packages -- of Saint Arnold Christmas Ale.
This year's supply of Saint Arnold Christmas Ale will ship from the oldest
craft brewery in Texas on October 16, 2007. This is the 13th annual edition
of Saint Arnold Christmas Ale, which was originally introduced by Saint
Arnold Brewing as its first seasonal in 1995.
"We have never regretted naming it Saint Arnold Christmas Ale because it
sets us apart from all the namby-pamby marketing types who tell people not
to use 'Christmas,'" said Brock Wagner, founder of Saint Arnold Brewing
Company. "People of all religions and backgrounds make Saint Arnold
Christmas Ale part of their annual celebrations. In fact, we have yet to
see anybody not drink this beer because of its name."
Saint Arnold Christmas Ale is rich and hearty with a malty sweetness and
pleasantly spicy bitterness. The recipe calls for using five different
types of malted barley and refrains from adding any other grains or cereals
such as corn or rice, which contributes to the beer's full flavor and
relatively high alcohol level. The Saint Arnold brew crew also uses two
different Pacific Northwest hop varieties.
Beginning October 16th, Saint Arnold Christmas Ale will be available on tap
and in 12-ounce bottles sold in six-packs and cases. It will be available
throughout Texas at grocery and liquor stores, bars and restaurants.
Saint Arnold Christmas Ale was recognized with the Bronze Medal at the 1998
World Beer Cup in the Old Ale/Strong Ale category and a Silver Medal at the
World Beer Championships in the Strong Ale category. Its alcohol by volume
content is seven percent and is best enjoyed at 45°F. It has an original
gravity of 1.067. More information on Saint Arnold Christmas Ale can be
