Saint Joseph's Oratory Back to Normal

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 30, 2007) - The management of Saint Joseph's Oratory wishes to inform the public that the event which took place earlier today has been peacefully resolved.

Around noon, an armed man entered the basilica. Farther Charles Corso, a staff member of the Oratory, with the help of a pilgrim spoke with the individual who was visibly distressed. The man eventually gave up his weapon voluntarily. The MUC Police had already evacuated the perimeter for security reasons. No one was injured.

Father Corso and the pilgrim were relieved and have stated that they would rather not comment on the situation.

The management of the Oratory is happy about the outcome of the situation and thanks the police force as well as the Oratory staff for their efficiency and their cooperation. The Oratory's activities returned to normal this afternoon.
