San Bernardino City Unified School District Selects AssetWorks for Fixed Asset and Inventory Valuation Services

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA--(Marketwire - March 3, 2010) - AssetWorks, a leading provider of technology and professional consulting solutions for asset and infrastructure-intensive organizations, today announced that it has been selected to provide comprehensive fixed asset and inventory valuation services to the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD).

SBCUSD is the eighth largest school district in California with more than 44 elementary schools, 10 middle schools, 7 high schools, and 3 special education schools. Given the size of the district and the volume of its assets, meeting the requirements of GAAP and Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statement 34 (GASB 34) which requires state and local government organizations to report on the value of infrastructure assets, is no small task.

AssetWorks has been selected to help the district meet the challenge of capital asset reporting by identifying each capital asset by location, building and room. By inventorying capital assets and tagging equipment with barcode tags, AssetWorks can help SBCUSD develop and maintain proper stewardship of its assets.

For ongoing management of the district's assets, SBCUSD can use AssetMAXX from AssetWorks – a Web-based program enabling the district to securely maintain, collect, and retrieve property and asset data in real time.
