San Diego County Office of Education Deploys Stoneware's Private Cloud Platform to Efficiently Deliver IT Resources to the School Districts of San Diego County

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - March 31, 2010) -  Stoneware, Inc. - To provide world-class service in San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE), the SDCOE met with all 42 school districts to determine their organizational needs. District leaders asked for increased access to their learning environment from outside school walls. The SDCOE was determined to find or build an affordable solution to make this a reality.

After an exhaustive search, SDCOE partnered with Stoneware to create "CloudConnect," SDCOE's private cloud platform through which users can access their critical resources such as legacy applications, web applications, cloud-based hosted applications, files, and other district resources. "We've had very positive feedback from our first school districts to implement. Immediately, people see benefits, especially those using older remote access technologies. In fact, our superintendents can now collaborate anytime, anywhere, without having to wait for a formal meeting," said Steve Clemons, Assistant Superintendent and Chief Technology Officer, SDCOE.

"It's exciting to see the vision of the IT staff at SDCOE and to watch them build a secure, scalable, private cloud with their Cloud Connect project. We are seeing more and more central services organizations such as county offices of education, regional service centers, and BOCES, deploying the Stoneware private cloud platform to provide services to their customers anytime, anywhere, from any device. SDCOE has become a model for other organizations looking to deliver private cloud services," said Todd Gibbs, VP Strategic Sales, Stoneware Inc.

We are seeing more and more central services organizations such as county offices of education, regional service centers, and BOCES, deploying the Stoneware private cloud platform to provide services to their customers anytime, anywhere, from any device.
