Sangoma Expands B-Series Hybrid Telephony Card Product Line

B601 Telephony Board Meets Software-Based PBX Vendor Demand for Cost-Effective, Compact Interface Card

TORONTO, ONTARIO and GLENDALE, ARIZONA--(Marketwire - Oct. 14, 2009) - Astricon 2009 - Sangoma(R) Technologies Corporation (TSX VENTURE:STC), a leading supplier of hardware and software enabling server-based voice and data communication applications, today announced the general availability of its B601, the second in a series of hybrid telephony cards. The B601 was designed to meet the needs of PBX vendors by offering a mix of digital (PRI) and analog (FXO/FXS) interfaces.

The B601 board includes one T1/E1/J1 digital port, along with four analog FXO ports and one analog FXS port, all in a compact form factor designed to fit small, cost-effective IP-PBX platforms.

One of the first customers to deploy the new hybrid card was RockBochs, a leading provider of PBX appliances. The B601 helped reduce the cost of their software-based PBX systems by nearly 25 percent.

"The B601 eliminated the need to purchase multiple boards; now our servers use fewer expansion slots and less physical space, resulting in significant cost reduction," said Chad Behling, CEO of RockBochs, Inc. "Single boards are also much simpler to install, manage and support. We can use this card to deliver a compact, cost-effective server preconfigured with trixbox(R), Elastix(R), FreePBX(R) or other types of Asterisk distributions."

Sangoma launched its first hybrid telephony card, the B700 FlexBRI card, in January 2009 in response to small office demand in Europe to support analog devices by combining digital BRI ports with analog FXO and FXS. This award-winning telephony card won VoIP Product of the Year at Asterisk TAG Berlin 2008.

Telephony cards from Sangoma are built to make software-based communication applications run more efficiently and cost-effectively. The boards are compatible with a variety of open source telephony projects such as Asterisk(R), FreeSwitch(TM), CallWeaver(TM), Yate(TM) and others, as well as a high number of proprietary SIP-based applications.

"With the B601, Sangoma delivers an innovative, small form factor card design to take software-based PBX applications to the next level," said Frederic Dickey, Director of Product Management at Sangoma. "We continue to introduce products that reduce the costs of deploying these applications, but without compromising on voice quality and the solid engineering design that lead to robust implementations."

The B601 hybrid cards are showcased in Booth #212 at Astricon in Glendale, Arizona this week.

Both the Sangoma B601 cards and the RockBochs PBX appliances are available for purchase today.
