Savaria to Distribute Merits Products

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 29, 2008) - Savaria Corporation (TSX:SIS), the second largest company in the accessibility industry in North America, announces the signature of a distribution agreement with Merits Health Products Co. that assigns to Savaria the exclusive distribution of Merits' motorized wheelchairs and electric scooters in Canada and the right to sell them in the United States.

Savaria has an extensive North American network of dealers, retailers and installer-partners. Through its subsidiary Van-Action (2005) Inc., the Corporation thereby intends to rapidly position itself in the motorized wheelchair and electric scooters segments, especially in Canada in which it benefits from exclusive distribution rights.

The marketing of Merits' products has been assigned to Terry Miller, who was hired by Van-Action on April 21, 2008. Over the past decade, Mr. Miller was Senior Product Manager at Vantage Mobility International in Phoenix, Arizona, a North American leader in the conversion of vehicles.
