Scotiabank Place Ranks 41st In Worldwide Venues

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 1, 2007) - In a ranking of top venues worldwide in concert ticket sales, Pollstar, the concert industry's leading trade publication, ranked Scotiabank Place 41st in the Top 100 worldwide venues with 234,760 tickets sold for the period of Jan. 1, 2006, to Dec. 31, 2006. The rankings were published in Pollstar's Jan. 15, 2007, issue.

In the previous year's survey, Scotiabank Place ranked 47 out of 100 with 197,764 tickets sold for the period of Jan. 1, 2005, to Dec. 31, 2005.

Scotiabank Place currently has 18 different shows on sale for the upcoming months of 2007, including these six in February: The Tragically Hip on Feb. 2, Larry the Cable Guy on Feb. 6, Slayer on Feb. 9, Barenaked Ladies on Feb. 23, Rod Stewart on Feb. 24 and Josh Groban on Feb. 27.

New York City's Madison Square Garden ranked first with 1,181,486 tickets sold during this period. At third overall, the Air Canada Centre in Toronto was Canada's top venue with sales topping 653,106.

Pollstar does not include sporting ticket sales. Therefore, Ottawa Senators hockey events were not accounted for in these results.
