SearchGold Updates on Belleterre Drill Campaign

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 1, 2007) - SearchGold Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:RSG) (FSE:S1O) is pleased to provide an update on its Belleterre Gold Property drill campaign which began in mid-November 2006 in Northern Quebec, Canada.

The 5000 m program began with an initial 4,000 m of diamond drilling and has now been completed for a total of 24 holes. After reception of the initial assays, SearchGold will decide where the remaining 1000 meters of drilling should be completed.

Philippe Giaro, President and CEO, observed that "The Belleterre drill program systematically tested the high potential gold corridor defined by Veins 1 and 3 over a strike length of one kilometer. All holes have been logged and samples are now at the laboratory for assaying. Given the delays in receiving assays, it was decided to halt the campaign with an anticipated resumption after the reception of all results."

Drill Targets

The initial phase of the program targeted the high potential gold corridor defined by Veins 1 and 3 including the individual targets Vein 1 and Vein 3 as well as IP anomalies and magnetic lows. The program is carried out under the supervision of Mr. Alain-Jean Beauregard, P. Geol. and President of Groupe Conseil Geologica who has extensive knowledge of the Belleterre area. More discussion on these targets is presented below.

Vein # 1

A total of ten holes targeted the immediate down-dip extensions of exposed mineralized showings in the Vein 1 area. The holes were drilled at angles varying between 45 degrees and 75 degrees for a total of 943 m. A total of four holes, totaling 1,101 m, covered a combination of Vein 1 western extension and IP targets.

Vein # 3

A total of six holes targeted Vein 3 at depth and its western extensions. The holes were drilled at angles varying between 45 degrees and 65 degrees for a total of 925 m.

Corridor western extension

A total of three stratigraphic holes targeted magnetic lows at the western end of the high potential corridor defined by Veins 1 and 3. The holes were drilled at angles varying between 50 degrees and 54 degrees for a total of 904 m.

One 150 m hole was drilled south of the corridor to test an isolated IP target.
