Authors of "Selling Yourself Without Selling Out: A Leader's Guide to Ethical Self-Promotion" Will Explain How Executives Can Get the Recognition They Deserve

NOVATO, CA--(Marketwire - August 5, 2008) - How often have you done outstanding work only to be overlooked for promotion? Gina Hernez-Broome, Cindy McLaughlin, and Stephanie Trovas of the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) will explain how executives can gain the visibility and recognition they deserve during the Experts Connection™ (www.experts-connection.com) teleseminar, "Selling Yourself Without Selling Out: The Whys and Hows of Self-Promotion… A Necessary 'Evil.'" The session is scheduled for August 27, from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. ET, (1:00 - 2:00 p.m. PT). The Experts Connection teleseminar series for executive career management is sponsored by NETSHARE® (www.netshare.com).

In today's rapidly changing workplace it's common to be overlooked or underestimated, or to have a new hire brought in for a job for which you are certainly qualified. Unfortunately, many executives equate self-promotion with bragging, showing off, or worse, selling out. This stigma tends to get in the way of career advancement, and prevents executives from leveraging their accomplishments for advancement. The panelists, co-authors of "Selling Yourself Without Selling Out: A Leader's Guide to Ethical Self-Promotion," will offer tips and techniques for gaining the recognition you deserve in the workplace.

In this Experts Connection teleseminar, the presenters will demystify the common beliefs that get in the way of self-promotion. They also will explain how to use self-promotion as an intentional, strategic tool that will reap rewards for you, your team, and your company. Topics for discussion will include:

--  How self-promotion can benefit you, your team, and your company;
-- How to reframe common beliefs about self-promotion that get in the way
    and turn them into useful tactics;
-- Specific strategies, techniques, and activities to effectively promote
    yourself.

"Whether you are looking for a new job or looking to improve your standing in your current job, you have to know how to sell yourself," notes Katherine Simmons, CEO of NETSHARE and host of the Experts Connection teleseminars. "Selling yourself and your skills is one of the hardest things in the world, but with the proven techniques that Gina, Cindy, and Stephanie have to share, anyone can become his own best promoter. These are skills that will prove invaluable throughout your career."
