Senators Assign Defenceman Lawrence Nycholat To AHL's Binghamton

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 29, 2007) - The Ottawa Senators today returned defenceman Lawrence Nycholat to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Nycholat was first recalled on an emergency basis to replace the injured Joe Corvo on Dec. 23 to face the Rangers in New York. After having been assigned to the B-Sens following that contest, he was again recalled on an emergency basis to replace Corvo in games at Buffalo (Dec. 26) and the New York Islanders (Dec. 27). He has been held scoreless in his three appearances with the Senators this season, averaging 11:56 of ice-time.

Nycholat remains tied for second in team scoring with Binghamton with five goals, 18 assists and 42 penalty minutes in 31 games. He has three multi-point games this season, his last (one goal and assist) in a 4-3 win over Rochester on Dec. 22.

Binghamton is in fifth place in the AHL's East Division with 35 points from 15 wins, 13 losses, three overtime losses and two shootout losses. The club's next game takes place this evening when they visit the Penguins in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Penn.
