Senators to Unveil New Uniform System at 3:04 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2008) - After more than a year of design consultation with Ottawa Senators players, staff and fans, the club will unveil its newest third jersey and uniform system to a capacity crowd at Scotiabank Place on Saturday, Nov. 22 when the players step out on the ice at 3:04 p.m. before their game against the New York Rangers.

The Back in Black themed uniform system includes changes to the jersey, pants and socks. Designed by Reebok, the uniform system went through extensive changes, feedback and comments from players, staff and fans.

This is the club's third alternate jersey. The first, which was primarily red, was introduced in November 1997 and then became the official away jersey for the 1999-2000 season. The second alternate jersey featured an updated version of the black road jersey and was first used during the 2000-01 season.

The Sens Stores, located at Scotiabank Place, Rideau Centre and Place d'Orleans, are exclusively selling the new third jersey for the first five days of its availability, from Saturday, Nov. 22 to Wednesday, Nov. 26. More than 600 player-crested jerseys will be available immediately. The jerseys will cost $129.99 (plus tax) each and fans will receive a 'captains' Back in Black poster, featuring Daniel Alfredsson, Dany Heatley and Chris Phillips.

"I think I like the mix of retro and new design," said team captain Daniel Alfredsson. "I really like the jersey - it really stands out. It's just not a copy from the retro jersey. It still has some of the new logo and everything. I like the mix."

Alternate team captain Dany Heatley noted, "I like it. I like the black colour. We had the blacks a few years ago - these are unbelievable. Just everything about it, the colours, the design, we all like it and I hope the fans do too."

"I think they look great," said alternate team captain Chris Phillips. "Simple - I love the black. I think they're doing a great job on them. Last year they sat the whole team down, had some different options to look at. They took input from the players and everyone around the organization from what they thought looked best, and this is what they came up with and they did a great job of it."

There are 18 NHL teams introducing third jerseys this season.
