Sensory Networks Granted United States Patent for High Performance Hardware Pattern-Matching

The Patent for "Apparatus and Method for Memory Efficient, Programmable, Pattern Matching Finite State Machine Hardware" Further Strengthens Sensory's Leadership in the Field of High-Performance Security Technology

PALO ALTO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 7, 2006 -- Sensory Networks, the leader in acceleration technology for network security applications, has been granted US patent #7,082,044 for "Apparatus and method for memory efficient, programmable, pattern matching finite state machine hardware" by the US Patent Office as of July 25th, 2006.

This patent covers techniques for high-performance pattern-matching, one of the fundamental operations of network security and covers a variety of memory architectures, including use of CAMs (Content Addressable Memories). The convergence of security functions into combined devices, the ever-increasing network speeds required to do business, and the extensive number of threats now posed in the security threat landscape have made content inspection and pattern-matching a critical task for today's network devices. Sensory Networks' unique NodalCore platform accelerates key security applications such as Antivirus, Antispam, Antispyware, IDS/IPS, Content Filtering and QoS.

Sensory Networks' expertise in network security and acceleration includes many propriety algorithms and techniques. "We are committed to protecting our valuable intellectual property," said Matt Barrie, CEO for Sensory Networks. "The granting of this patent clearly shows our leadership in the field of high-performance security technology."
