SetFocus Adds WPF and LINQ Seminars to Spring Schedule

WPF and LINQ Seminars to Be Offered on Saturday Seminar Schedule

PARSIPPANY, NJ--(Marketwire - April 25, 2008) - Today, SetFocus announced a new series of courses to be held on Saturdays, known as the Saturday Seminar Series. The first installment of the series will offer courses on the Language Integrated Query Project (LINQ) and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).

The Saturday Seminar Series has been created to allow busy professionals to continue to remain marketable by offering short intensive Saturday seminars on Microsoft's hottest topics. All seminars will be available in an online synchronous format via The GRID.

Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) is the desktop user interface platform introduced in the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 and enhanced in the .NET Framework 3.5. The WPF Seminar will dive into the WPF object model, the role (and use of) XAML as well as the WPF development tools. Attendees will investigate the WPF data binding engine, available layout managers, and the construction of styles and templates. This course also introduces the 2D, 3D, video and animation APIs exposed by the Windows Presentation object model wrapping up with an examination of XBAP (XAML Browser Applications). This seminar will be held on May 31 and June 7 and will be presented by Karl Shifflett, Microsoft MVP, creator of MOLE for Visual Studio and SetFocus Master's Program Alumnus.

Language-Integrated Query (LINQ) is a set of features in Visual Studio 2008 that extends powerful query capabilities to the language syntax of C# and Visual Basic. The LINQ Seminar will dive into the new programming constructs in .NET 3.5, examine LINQ (Language Integrated Query) and the core APIs which represent it: LINQ over Objects, LINQ to SQL and LINQ to XML. This seminar will be held on May 3 and May 10 and will be presented by James Arendt, Microsoft MCT, Microsoft Dev Days Speaker, SetFocus Instructor and Master's Program Alumnus.
