SevOne Breaks Network/Application Performance Management Price Barrier -- Extends Visibility Into All Business and IT Metrics

New PAS(TM) Enhancements Provide Second-by-Second Performance Views and Segmented Third-Party Data Reports to Improve QoS for Enterprises and Telcos

NEWARK, DE--(Marketwire - November 18, 2008) - SevOne, Inc., an innovator in network and application performance management tools and solutions, today announced enhancements to its flagship product, PAS™ (Performance Appliance Solution). Designed to meet specific customer requirements, PAS now tightly correlates business and IT metrics, and it does so at a lower price point than existing legacy offerings. The new capabilities enable enterprise and telco organizations to improve Quality of Service (QoS) delivery by importing any third-party data into robust reports, segmenting NetFlow data into logical groups as well as polling WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) -- including VMware views.

"SevOne's new PAS release enables us to leverage WMI data to see much deeper into the performance of servers without the complexity and cost of agent deployments," said Jay Scott, network capacity/performance engineer for Alere Medical. "While this capability wasn't something that was available in their original product, SevOne worked with us and delivered on that feature set, just as they promised."

SevOne's award-winning PAS solution provides limitless scalability, by-the-second polling, a fully distributed peer-to-peer architecture and is offered at a much lower price point than competing legacy solutions. New PAS features include:

-- Deferred Data - Enables business metrics or any third-party data to be
imported and correlated with IT Metrics.
-- Baseline Graphing and Processing - Looks at all data points within a
60-minute time span, averages them and stores the averages for every hour
of the week for a total of 168 data points.
-- Logical Thresholds - Enables users to set thresholds based on more
than one condition creating more intelligent alerts.
-- Netflow Enhancements - Includes Advanced Grouping which allows users
to create categories of sortable groups including cities, countries,
applications, range of IP addresses, etc.
-- Object Grouping - To further segment reporting or alerting, users can
now group by devices and by objects. Object groups can include interface,
serial, ATMs, CPUs, all WAN links, all Gigabit links.
-- Instant Status - Allows users to see a high-level overview of their
entire network, based solely on the number and severity of the alerts that
    their devices have incurred.
-- WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) - Includes polling of WMI
data including CPU usage, VMware, ASP.NET, hard drive usage, and memory
    usage.

"Our newest PAS enhancements provide organizations improved reporting speed and streamlined visibility into their IT and business infrastructures," said Vess Bakalov, CTO for SevOne. "We are especially proud to add WMI to our family of monitoring protocols and we will continue to add valuable new features based on customer requirements."

Noted author and industry analyst Dr. Jim Metzler of Ashton, Metzler and Associates, adds, "IT managers must ensure that their organization chooses a tool that can quickly respond to current and emerging challenges associated with managing IT and business performance. SevOne delivers this capability in a single, easy-to-deploy and easy-to-use solution."
