ShareThis Adds Sales Veterans to Executive Team

Advertising Industry Veterans Brent Herd and Julie Levitas Greenhouse to Help Publishers and Marketers Realize the Value of Sharing

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - May 6, 2010) -  Today, ShareThis, the world's largest sharing network, announced the expansion of its executive team with the addition of Brent Herd as Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development, and Julie Levitas Greenhouse as Senior Vice President of Publisher Services and Business Development. ShareThis has grown rapidly during the last two years and has helped to make sharing the center of the social Web with its sharing service on more than 150,000 sites, reaching over 400 million users per month. Herd and Greenhouse will help publishers and marketers leverage sharing to identify and target new audiences.

"Sharing is the central action of the social Web, and increasingly advertisers and publishers are taking notice and looking for ways to leverage it," said Tim Schigel, CEO, ShareThis. "Sharing makes content worth reading, reacting to and worth knowing, and information about how people are engaged with content is immensely valuable for defining and targeting audiences. Brent and Julie are going to be key in helping to realize the value of sharing for our publisher and advertiser partners and their larger communities."

Herd brings more than ten years of experience in sales for Internet companies, including long stints at AOL, Advertising.com and Yahoo! at the evolving intersection of display and social media. He understands the opportunity for marketers and publishers to tap into influence, and will be a major force in helping both to monetize sharing. Previously, he was a vice president at AOL and a regional director at Advertising.com and was also with Yahoo! for five years in the late '90s and early 2000s.

Prior to joining ShareThis, Greenhouse was vice president of product sales for AOL where she was responsible for the revenue of their Behavioral Targeting, Mobile, AOL Sponsored Listings and AOL Search and Bidplace divisions. At AOL, Greenhouse also served as vice president of search sales and was recognized as one of Time Warner's Executive Women Leaders in 2009. Before AOL, Greenhouse was director of sales for Yahoo! Search Marketing and also held roles at Disney Online, Deja.com and GeoCities.
