Shaw Delivers More Than $900,000 for Haiti Relief

Employees open their hearts to raise funds for devastated region

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 4, 2010) - Shaw Communications (TSX:SJR.B) (NYSE:SJR) and their employees have reached out to those devastated by the Haiti earthquake – an astounding $900,000 has been donated to the Canadian Red Cross.

Shaw double matched the incredible gifts of its employees across Canada, whose donations were also matched by the Canadian government. Shaw also donated $100,000 after the crisis to provide immediate funds to the Red Cross.

"We are blown away by the generous contributions of our employees in providing relief to those affected by this disaster," said Peter Bissonnette, President, Shaw Communications. "The fact that many of our employees were able to donate $50 or $100 out of their paycheques demonstrates the incredible spirit and generosity of our employees."

Shaw's contributions will support the on-going relief and recovery efforts of the Red Cross in Haiti.

Local fundraising efforts have also been profiled on Shaw TV throughout the country. Shaw also continues to provide Digital Phone customers with free long-distance calling to Haiti, dating back to when the earthquake struck on January 12, 2010.
